Description:
Science and modern society. A survey of physics, astronomy, chemistry, and geology, with greater emphasis on the first two disciplines. Special focus is directed to the growth of scientific knowledge rather than the facts of science. The primary objectives of this course are that students develop an appreciation for the heritage, processes and products of science while learning how to think logically and critically, improve their ability to synthesize and to analyze, and improve their ability to communicate the results of their endeavors and analysis in writing.
